The municipality of Nabatieh issued a statement calling on the people of the city who were forced to leave it as a result of the war conditions not to go there at the present time, under any circumstances, in order to preserve their safety in light of the continued precariousness and instability of the security situation. The municipality confirmed that it senses the extent of the people’s suffering and appreciates their patience and natural longing to return to their homes and inspect their property, stressing at the same time that this decision stems from concern for lives and the public interest. The municipality asked the displaced people to wait and remain in their safe places of displacement until an official and clear statement is issued by the concerned authorities confirming that the danger has passed and safe conditions are available for return. The statement concluded by emphasizing that the cooperation of the people at this stage constitutes the basic guarantee of their safety.
