Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa said that US President Donald Trump expressed his annoyance at what is happening in Lebanon, indicating that his statements were misunderstood. Al-Sharaa confirmed that Syria or himself would not be willing to enter Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah, explaining that what Trump proposed was not related to the entry of Syrian forces, but rather to the possibility of a “positive” Syrian role to help find a solution. Al-Sharaa added that Lebanon should not remain trapped between the options of civil war and Israeli war, considering that the Shiite component in Lebanon needs reassurance, not more fears and confrontations.
