The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the continuation of military buildups and movements of Syrian forces along the border strip with Lebanon, amid ongoing redeployment and reinforcement operations that included several border and strategic areas.
According to the Observatory, military mobilizations were concentrated in the western countryside of Homs, especially in the villages of Al-Nizariyah, Haweik, and Al-Fadhiliyah, which belong to the Qusayr region and are close to the Lebanese border with the Hermel and Akkar regions, in addition to the areas of Talkalakh and the villages adjacent to the border.
The Observatory indicated that the movements also extended to the village of Tal Wa'a and the village of Al-Dakika in the Safita countryside in Tartous Governorate, in addition to the deployment and reinforcements in the Zabadani Plain and Madaya in the western Damascus countryside and the Qalamoun outskirts extending between Al-Nabk, Yabrud, Qara, Flita and Al-Jarajir, all the way to the areas opposite the Baalbek-Hermel region.
Observatory sources also spoke of noticeable military activity in the areas facing the northern Lebanese border, especially in the vicinity of the village of Al-Haisa in Akkar, near the Qlayaat airport, which is adjacent to the Syrian border with the Tartous countryside.
In parallel, information reported that Syrian forces transferred heavy weapons and military vehicles from areas in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, including Manbij, Ain al-Arab (Kobani), Tishreen Dam, Qarquzak Bridge, and Maskanah, towards border areas in the Homs countryside bordering Lebanon, in a move that reflects the strengthening of military deployment along the border.
