The US Central Command (Centcom) announced the end of a new wave of strikes against Iran, targeting dozens of sites in multiple regions using precision munitions. She explained that the strikes, which were carried out on July 12, targeted Iranian military air defense systems for the first time, in addition to coastal radar sites, missile capabilities, platforms for launching drones, and small boats. American fighter planes, warships, and unidirectional air and sea attack drones participated in the operations, an indication of the breadth of the scope of the campaign and the diversity of the media used in it. The US command confirmed that the forces deployed in the region are in a state of full readiness to ensure the continued freedom of navigation for commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, accusing Iran of continuing what it described as “unjustified aggression, harassment, and threats.”
