The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: On 7/14/2026, citizen (J.S.) opened fire on citizens and residential neighborhoods in the town of Bteghrine - Al-Matn. Subsequently, an army unit carried out raids in a number of towns and arrested the aforementioned citizen in the town of Marjaba - Al-Matn, and seized a quantity of weapons, military ammunition, and drugs, in addition to military equipment. During the raid, the unit came under fire from the wanted man, wounding an officer and a soldier. The seized items were handed over and the investigation was launched with the detainee under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
