Representative Hussein Al-Haj Hassan criticized the results of what happened in Washington, considering that they did not go beyond “general American words and promises without guarantees,” and without setting any time limit for redeployment or achieving any progress. Hajj Hassan considered that Donald Trump's call for the Syrian side to intervene in Lebanon represents a violation of Lebanese sovereignty, pointing out that talk of an Israeli withdrawal "is limited to already liberated areas," as the Israeli forces were not inside the town of Zawtar. Regarding the possibility of communicating with Hezbollah, he stressed the rejection of any dialogue with “those who attack Lebanon and destroy its lands,” criticizing what he described as “the American style of arrogance.” He affirmed his refusal to restrict the sources of reconstruction financing, stressing the continuation of cooperation with the Lebanese army and the existence of a “close” relationship with it. He also pointed out that any framework agreement needs the approval of constitutional institutions, considering that the authority is “deepening the gap with citizens,” and stressing the difficulty of withdrawing the incubator environment from Hezbollah.
