Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin confirmed in a telephone call with President Joseph Aoun that the Holy See is closely following the situation in Lebanon and that His Holiness Pope Leo XIV always prays for the end of the suffering of the Lebanese people and the establishment of peace throughout Lebanon. For his part, President Aoun thanked Cardinal Parolin for the Vatican’s support for Lebanon and the attention of the Holy Father, stressing that he continues to work with the Lebanese government to restore security and stability to Lebanon and extend state authority over all its lands. He asked him to convey the gratitude of the Lebanese to His Holiness the Pope for his love for Lebanon and its people.
