US President Donald Trump said that the Iranians are communicating with the United States, indicating that they are still not ready to reach an agreement. Trump stressed that Iran does not have many drones left, stressing that Iran would have used nuclear weapons if it had possessed them. He pointed out that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit the United States within days. On Friday, Trump said that he had not yet made a decision about launching broader strikes on Iran, as Tehran was showing “more seriousness” in discussions with Washington. Trump responded to a question from reporters about whether he had made a decision about launching a large-scale military operation against Iran, saying: “No, I have not made a decision yet. We are talking to them now, and I think they are showing more seriousness day after day, and perhaps the reason is clear.” He explained that Iran has two options: either reach an agreement, or face a “much more violent” level of strikes, about two weeks after the United States resumed its attacks on Tehran, and the latter responded by bombing targets in the region. He added: "We are fully prepared and ready to move, but we are talking to them, and we will see what these discussions will produce. I think they are serious, and they should be." Trump reiterated his position that his red line is that Iran is close to developing a nuclear weapon, stressing that the “tipping point” that will push him to make his decision is not yet clear.
