Raji: We want a Lebanon freed from occupation and illegal weapons
Fady Mahouly
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raji, affirmed that “the Lebanese Army today has the required capabilities,” and the bet is to expand its deployment and control to include the entire south and the rest of Lebanese territory.
He said that we trust Washington to ensure Israel's commitment, and we hope for a Lebanon free from every occupation and from every illegal weapon, prosperous and democratic, and living in peace with its neighbors and with the entire world, pointing out that "the overwhelming majority of the Lebanese are looking forward to that."
He added: "It is not possible to separate the military and political wings of Hezbollah before disarming it," noting that, "Hezbollah is Iranian in essence and does not describe itself as the Lebanese resistance, which reflects a doctrine that goes beyond the national framework."
