After talking about illegal telecommunications networks... Ministry of Communications: Any network outside the legal framework is a violation
Fady Mahouly
The Media Office of the Ministry of Communications issued the following:
In response to what the media is circulating about illegal communications networks, the Ministry’s position is clear: The Ministry is not an investigating body, and this file is within the jurisdiction of the security and judicial agencies. We have been informed that investigations are ongoing and we are awaiting their results. The Ministry cooperates with the competent authorities upon request in accordance with applicable procedures and laws.
Our principled position is firm: the communications infrastructure belongs to the Lebanese state alone, and any network outside the legal framework is a violation that will be dealt with by appropriate means and channels.
