Prime Minister Nawaf Salam affirmed, on the sixth anniversary of the August 4 explosion, that “there can be no settlement at the expense of justice... even if it is sometimes delayed,” stressing that “only the truth is capable of healing this great national wound.” Salam said on the “X” platform: “I know the depth of the national wound that is still bleeding, and I realize the extent of the pain that the families of the martyrs and victims are carrying.” He added: “Let no one doubt that there is no cover for any official, regardless of his position, neither in the Beirut Port explosion file nor in any other file... Accountability will not exclude anyone.” He continued: "Despite the tragedy of the fourth of August, let us remember the fifth of August, the day when Beirut rose with its people, and with the young women and men of Lebanon who came from various regions, so they removed the rubble, supported each other, and restored hope to the city." He concluded: “Let the fourth of August remain a day for truth, justice, and accountability, and let the fifth of August be a day for Beirut, for advancement, and for solidarity and unity among the Lebanese.”
