Today, Friday, Hezbollah responded to the US administration’s decision, through the Treasury and State Departments, to take measures against the party, considering that the claim that the party is “under the control of the Quds Force” is only an episode within the US administrations’ ongoing policies to target the resistance. The party indicated, in a statement, that this “old, new” decision issued by the US Treasury Department confirms that the US administration, which is accustomed to using sanctions as a means to impose its power and will on countries and peoples, is still dealing with Lebanon from a position of guardianship. He stressed that he does not expect testimony of his Lebaneseness and patriotism from anyone, stressing that the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs who gave their lives for Lebanon and its people, and the long history of resistance in confronting the occupation and defending land and sovereignty, are the “true testimony” to his Lebaneseness. He stressed that the “close and fraternal relationship” with the Islamic Republic of Iran is a relationship that he is proud of, considering that it stood by Lebanon, supported it, and supported it to liberate its land and restore its sovereignty and rights, and remained by its side in various stages and crises, and was one of the first countries that contributed to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the Israeli aggression during the July 2006 war. Hezbollah concluded by saying that “all these unjust sanctions and classifications” will not prevent it from adhering to the option of resistance and the right of Lebanon and the Lebanese to defend their land, sovereignty, and wealth, and will not change the fact that “the resistance was, is, and will remain an integral part of Lebanon’s history, present, and future.”
