A source on the Board of Directors of the Electricité du Liban Corporation explained that a production group is still working in the Deir Ammar factory, and that the funds necessary to open the credit for the ship located opposite the Zahrani factory have been secured, awaiting the transfer of the amounts from the Lebanese pound to the US dollar, so that the credit can be opened and the ship can be able to unload its cargo.
The source indicated that the Corporation’s Board of Directors, in coordination with the Minister of Energy and Water, his work team, and the management of the Electricité du Liban Corporation, continues to work on collecting the Corporation’s dues from public departments and institutions, and activating collection on various Lebanese territories, in parallel with implementing a broad raid campaign to combat the theft of electricity and infringements on the network, with the aim of enhancing the Corporation’s revenues, securing the necessary liquidity to purchase fuel, and ensuring the continuity of production.
He stressed that the Board of Directors is closely following the fuel insurance file and its direct impact on the corporation’s production capacity, while the corporation continues, within available capabilities, to secure supply to the airport and basic public facilities, especially the departments and institutions that took the initiative to pay their dues.
