The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, made a phone call to the Director General of State Security, Major General Edgar Lowndes, and offered him his condolences on the martyrdom of 12 members of State Security who fell as a result of the Israeli bombing of the Nabatieh Brigades. President Aoun said that these martyrs joined their comrades in the army and other security institutions who preceded them in martyrdom, just like the hundreds of Lebanese who irrigated the soil of the homeland with their pure blood. While President Aoun condemned the continued attacks, he considered that targeting state institutions and security agencies would not deter Lebanon from adhering to its right to protect its land and preserve its sovereignty, calling once again on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop the repeated Israeli attacks. The President of the Republic offered his condolences to the families of the 12 martyrs, noting their sacrifices in order to protect the nation and preserve its security and stability, stressing that their blood will not be in vain.
