Al-Moussawi: The martyrdom of Amal Khalil is a new crime... and it will not go unanswered
Fady Mahouly
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Media and Communications Committee in the Lebanese Parliament, MP Dr. Ibrahim Al-Moussawi, commented on the Zionist enemy’s crime of targeting media professionals in the town of Al-Tiri - southern Lebanon.
He said in a statement: “The Zionist enemy’s crime of targeting media professionals in the town of Al-Tiri while they were performing their professional duty covering the daily Zionist aggression against Lebanon did not surprise us at all, which resulted in the rise of the veteran journalist in field affairs, Amal Khalil, as a martyr, and the serious injury of her colleague Zainab Faraj, both of whom are brilliant correspondents in the Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper.”
He pointed out that "this new crime came to add another black spot in the continuing and bloated record of the enemy, which has been accustomed to assassinating media professionals and journalists and destroying their offices and equipment to prevent them from transmitting images of its crimes against civilians in Lebanon and Palestine."
Al-Moussawi offered condolences and sympathy from the family of the martyr Amal Khalil, as well as from her family in Al-Akhbar newspaper management, colleagues and employees, and from all the press committed to the issues of the nation, the homeland and the affairs of the people, as well as from honorable media professionals. As we pray for the speedy recovery of the journalist Zainab Faraj, we call on all media institutions, humanitarian organizations and international legal bodies to strongly condemn the Zionist aggression against Lebanon, and to prosecute this enemy and its leaders before the international courts and the competent judicial and legal chambers. So that he does not continue in his crimes, and so that he does not escape punishment.
Al-Moussawi stressed his complete confidence in the response that this crime will receive in order to preserve the rights and safety of Lebanon and the Lebanese.
