Hezbollah: Continued attacks will be met with a response
Fady Mahouly
Statement issued by Hezbollah:
Today, the Prime Minister of the criminal Zionist enemy, Benjamin Netanyahu, told us that “Hezbollah is the one who is undermining the ceasefire,” and that the enemy has a right to “freedom of action” in Lebanon “in accordance with the agreement with the United States of America and Lebanon.” While Hezbollah condemns Netanyahu's words, it strongly warns of its extreme danger in terms of trying to implicate the Lebanese authority in a bilateral agreement that occurred only between it and Washington, and Lebanon did not have any opinion or position on it, and therefore it did not agree to it. Hence, Hezbollah is interested in emphasizing the following:
The resistance’s continued targeting of the Israeli enemy’s concentrations on our land that it occupies, and its bombing of the enemy’s settlements in northern occupied Palestine, is a legitimate response to its persistent violations of the ceasefire since the first day of the announcement of the temporary truce, which exceeded 500 violations on land, sea and air, including bombing, bombing, and destruction of homes, and led to the fall of dozens of martyrs and wounded among our steadfast people.
Extending the truce for additional weeks was supposed, according to what the Lebanese authority stated, to bring about a real ceasefire in which the enemy would stop its violations and attacks, especially its bombing and destruction of homes in the south, but instead it escalated its aggression and attacks, confirming its criminal nature, its treachery, and its mockery of all international laws and conventions.
The Lebanese authority claimed that its basic condition for going to its ill-fated meeting in Washington with the enemy was to demand that it stop its attacks and begin its withdrawal from our occupied territories, but we did not hear a clear, public statement from it requiring that. On the contrary, what was issued by the Lebanese representative was only praise for the American president, the enemy’s partner in shedding the blood of the Lebanese, which encouraged the enemy to continue its attacks and violations.
The Lebanese authority placed itself in a dangerous dilemma when it chose to combine one shameful image with the representatives of a bastard, usurping entity that violates its land and sovereignty, continues to kill its people, and follows paths that legitimize this enemy’s attacks.
Today, the authorities stand silent, unable to carry out their most basic national duties towards their land and people, watching the enemy blow up homes and burn the green and dry land. It is demanding a clear clarification to its people about what the enemy is using as an excuse regarding an agreement with it that gives them the freedom to attack, destroy and kill.
Hezbollah confirms clearly and decisively that the enemy's continued violation of the ceasefire, and its attacks, including bombing, bulldozing, destroying homes, or targeting civilians, and above all, its continued occupation of Lebanese territory and its violations of its sovereignty, will be met with a response and resistance that is present and ready to defend its land and its people, a right guaranteed by international conventions. We will not wait or bet on a failed diplomacy that has proven its failure, nor on an authority that is negligent in protecting its homeland, as the people of this land are the true guarantee in confronting this aggression and defeating the occupation.
