Works: “Reconnecting Lebanon” will continue according to priorities

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has resumed implementation of the “Reconnect Lebanon” campaign in southern Lebanon, continuing its efforts to reconnect the affected areas with their vital axes and ensuring citizens’ access to their homes and basic services.
Under direct directives from His Excellency the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, the Ministry’s Regional Directorate in the South assigned contractors to carry out work to open roads, remove rubble, and treat the damage resulting from the attacks, which contributed to gradually restoring movement in a number of areas that witnessed severe damage.
In the city of Nabatieh and its surroundings, the interventions included the commercial market and the Nabatieh-Zibdine-Harouf Roundabout road, where works were carried out to remove the accumulated rubble and rubble and open the damaged sections, which contributed to re-securing movement and facilitating access to institutions, commercial shops and residential neighbourhoods.
In the Bint Jbeil district, the interventions included Tebnine, Al-Sultaniyah, Deir Antar, Shaqra and Dobeh, where public and side roads that were closed as a result of raids and attacks were opened and cleaned, facilitating the movement of people and the gradual return of life to normal. Road opening work was also carried out in Hadada and Beit Yahoun in cooperation and coordination with the Lebanese Army.
As for the Tire district, work continued in Janata, Maaroub, Tairdaba, Abbasiya - Main Street, Deir Qanun al-Nahr at the Hamara Junction, Deir Qanun Ras al-Ain, Qalila, Zebqin, Al-Hush - Ain Baal, in addition to the city of Tire, especially the industrial city, the bus and public housing, where simultaneous field operations were carried out to remove rubble, open damaged roads and re-secure traffic on a number of lanes that were closed due to the destruction, in addition to improving access. To residential neighborhoods, public facilities and local markets.
Also, road opening work was carried out in the town of Mansouri in cooperation and coordination with the Lebanese Army, as part of joint efforts aimed at re-securing movement on the damaged axes.
The Ministry confirmed that its field operations will continue in accordance with the priorities imposed by humanitarian and service needs, and in coordination with the concerned authorities, to ensure the acceleration of the reopening of damaged roads, ensuring the movement of citizens, and continued access to basic facilities and services, within the framework of its continued commitment to the success of the “Reconnecting Lebanon” campaign and restoring life to the vital arteries in various Lebanese regions.
