The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, chaired a meeting at Baabda Palace that included the Army Commander, General Rudolf Heikal, the military negotiating delegation, and the advisory team, where developments in Lebanon and the region were evaluated, including the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran and preparations for an upcoming round of negotiations in Washington. President Aoun presented his directives to the delegation, stressing the constants of the Lebanese position, foremost of which is a final ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the occupied territories, the deployment of the Lebanese army to the international border, in addition to the return of prisoners and the launch of the reconstruction process.
