Representative Hassan Murad inaugurated the mother campus of the International University - IU in the Saloumi area - Mount Lebanon, in an academic ceremony, during which he delivered a speech in which he stressed that “investing in people remains the most beneficial and most sustainable investment, no matter how circumstances change or challenges change,” considering that building people fortifies society and forms a basis for development and stability. Murad emphasized that “investing in people is not a budget item, but rather a vision for building a state,” pointing out that every university is an investment in the future and every student is a project of success for an entire nation, stressing that nations that have prioritized people have advanced and flourished. Murad also presented a set of constants on which the educational vision for the next stage is based, most notably education with skills and critical thinking, linking it to the labor market and scientific research, and consolidating educational justice and building citizens, with an emphasis on keeping pace with technology and artificial intelligence in light of global transformations. He pointed out that they will sponsor the university just as they sponsor the “Better Tomorrow” institutions, as an extension of the project of building people and creating the future, stressing that building people is more important than building buildings, and that their response to challenges and immigration will be through investing in science and knowledge. He addressed the role of the “Better Tomorrow” institutions in the educational sector, stressing that they were based on the firm belief of his father, President Abdel Rahim Murad, that education is the basic gateway to building the state and society, while continuing educational and development expansion to include various Lebanese regions, and also moving toward launching health, social, and development projects. Regarding his vision for Lebanon, he called for a state of institutions and openness, a Lebanon that abhors sectarianism and sectarianism, and a Lebanon of opportunities, education and work, while promoting balanced development in the various regions. He stressed that Lebanon is able to rise despite crises thanks to the energies of its people, and that education, knowledge, youth and the Lebanese human being are the most important national wealth. He concluded by sending a message to the students: “You are the reason for the existence of this university and you are its true mission. Adhere to science, morals, and the nation because it deserves every effort and every effort.”
