Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei stated in a message that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian pledged to bear responsibility "in safeguarding the rights of the Iranian people and the resistance front."
He added that Pezeshkian assured him that if the American side persisted in its demands, "we will not submit to that."
The guide stressed that the negotiations that Tehran will conduct in the future "do not mean accepting the enemy's conditions."
He indicated that he had another opinion regarding the memorandum, but he agreed to it after Pezeshkian pledged to bear the responsibility of protecting the people’s rights.
In a related context, he said that the American President, from a position of impotence, used various tools to reach the memorandum of understanding, adding that Iranian officials made great efforts to reach the stage of its signing.
He pointed out that the upcoming negotiations with the United States will be held face to face.
