A fundamental difference... Issa warns against rushing into implementation

The American Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, expressed his happiness at the continuation of the ongoing negotiations in Rome, expressing his aspiration for the two governments to reach constructive outcomes. He also indicated that there is an urgent need to complete broad technical tasks to ensure the security of the population on the ground.
Issa explained through an official statement that there is a fundamental difference between formulating the understandings on paper and implementing them on the ground responsibly. Pointing out that rushing into implementation may put civilians, whom this operation seeks to secure, in danger.
He went on to say: We believe that giving sufficient time to complete this work accurately from its inception is the most appropriate approach, as this will contribute to enabling the upcoming test areas to begin more effectively and smoothly.
He concluded by emphasizing the need for both sides to agree on a clear and realistic plan of action before moving on to the next step, considering this a top priority above all else.
