Former Minister of Justice Ibrahim Najjar said that “the Lebanese state has the right to reject any ambassador without explaining the rejection decision,” noting that “the security forces can arrest the Iranian ambassador the moment he leaves his country’s embassy.” He explained that any alternative to the issue of the Iranian ambassador is a violation of Lebanese sovereignty, and the only solution is for him to leave Lebanon. As for the amnesty, Najjar indicated that it is a “discretionary, selective and political amnesty,” considering that it was approved “to pay bills for Syria, for those who went to Israel, and for the Lebanese state,” pointing out that it can be appealed after its publication.
