The Media Office of His Excellency the Minister of Labor, Mohamed Haidar, clarified what was circulated in recent hours through some media outlets and WhatsApp groups, regarding a statement attributed to the Minister during his tour of the sites targeted by the Israeli enemy in Beirut, specifically in the Ain Al-Mreisseh area.
He stressed that the statement that was recirculated in writing had been subjected to a complete distortion in meaning and content, which led to the transmission of an inaccurate picture of what he actually made, especially with regard to the issue of the position of the “Shiite duo” on negotiating with the Israeli enemy.
Haider stressed that the minister’s words were stated clearly and directly during televised interviews on both the “LBCI” and “Al-Jadeed” channels, where anyone interested can return to the audio and video recordings available through the two official channels’ websites, and listen to the statement as it was issued verbatim, without fragmentation or interpretation.
He pointed out that the media outlet that published the distorted text had rushed to correct the error and re-published the statement in its exact form as stated by him, but the distorted version continued to be circulated through some groups on the “WhatsApp” application, which necessitated the issuance of this clarification.
He concluded by stressing the need to be precise in conveying statements, relying on original sources, and emphasizing that official positions are taken from their full context as they are presented in reliable media outlets, and not from fragmentary or distorted texts that are circulated outside their correct context.
